Common questions
How does the free trial work?
Everything is free for 14 days. The trial is tied to your Apple Account, so it covers your iPhone, iPad and Mac together. When it ends, the app locks until you unlock it with a one-time purchase.
I paid on one device. How do I unlock another?
Open Pitch & Pulse on the other device, go to Settings, and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account.
My teacher gave me a code.
Tap Redeem Code on the unlock screen or in Settings and enter it, or open the redemption link you were given. On a Mac running macOS 14, use the link.
Can my family share one purchase?
Yes. With Family Sharing turned on for your Apple Account, one purchase unlocks the app for everyone in your family group.
The tuner says “Not listening.”
Pitch & Pulse needs permission to use the microphone. On iPhone and iPad go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone; on a Mac, System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone. Turn on Pitch & Pulse.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Privacy Policy

Pitch & Pulse does not collect, store or share any personal information. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
Microphone
The tuner listens through your device's microphone only while the app is open. Sound is analyzed on your device, in real time, to measure pitch. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere. On iPhone and iPad the microphone turns off when the app goes to the background.
Settings
Your choices, such as reference pitch, temperament, tempo and appearance, are saved on your device so the app remembers them. They stay on your device.
Purchases and the free trial
The free trial and the unlock are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple tells the app which items your Apple Account owns and when the trial started, so the app can unlock itself. The app never receives your name, email address or payment details. Apple's handling of purchases is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
MIDI and Bluetooth
If you connect a MIDI keyboard, the notes you play are used only to sound tones inside the app. Nothing is stored or transmitted.
Children
Pitch & Pulse is made for music students of all ages. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
